National Hate Crime Awareness Week 12-19 October 2019

Below is some information about the Suffolk Hate Crime Conference, which brought together over 150 partners from many agencies across Suffolk over 2 events.

The conference was organised by Suffolk County Council and Suffolk Constabulary, alongside: Norfolk and Suffolk Victim Care, Ipswich Community Safety Partnership, Western Community Safety Partnership, Eastern Community Safety Partnership, and members of the Suffolk Hate Crime Network and was held on on Thursday 17th October 2019

The event gave an opportunity for delegates to listen to the experiences of some inspirational speakers, including representatives from Guide Dogs who provided a moving personal insight into the impact of hate crime. A session was also delivered by AlterEgo; http://www.alteregocreativesolutions.co.uk/fth/ a ‘not for profit’ Social Enterprise who specialise in using drama and related media to raise awareness around complex social issues through a thought provoking theatre display.

Throughout the day there were opportunities to meet members of the Suffolk Hate Crime Network who provided information stalls to raise awareness of their organisations, their work and the support available across the county.

You can access some of the documentation from the day here:
