Get Involved: Be a Voice for Change

Victims Experience Panel

At Norfolk & Suffolk Victim Care, we believe that recovery from crime is strengthened by community connection and lived experience. Whether you’re looking to give back, grow your skills, or be part of something meaningful, there’s a place for you here.

Join the Victims Experience Panel

We’re committed to putting victims at the heart of everything we do. The NSVCS Victims Experience Panel is a space for past and present service users to shape the future of victim care.

By joining the panel, you can:

  • Share your experiences to improve services
  • Participate in quarterly panels (virtual and in-person)
  • Help set the agenda for discussions with commissioners and partners
  • Influence how criminal justice issues are addressed locally

Your voice matters. Together, we can build a service that truly reflects the needs of our communities.

What You’ll Gain

  • Personal fulfilment from helping others
  • Training and development opportunities
  • A supportive team environment
  • The chance to be part of a values-driven organisation

Become a Community Champion

Our Community Champions programme is a powerful way to support victims and survivors across Norfolk and Suffolk. Champions are trained volunteers embedded in local communities who help raise awareness, build trust, and ensure our support reaches those who need it most.

As a Community Champion, you might:

  • Participate in outreach and engagement activities
  • Deliver wellbeing check-ins and step-down support
  • Co-facilitate group sessions aligned with our approach that prioritises proactive and inclusive engagement, trauma-informed practice, strategic integration with victim support ecosystems, and continuous improvement through stakeholder feedback and accountability.
  • Share cultural insight and lived experience to inform service development
  • Promote the service through events, case studies, and webinars

Community Champions receive a structured induction and ongoing role-specific training, equipping them to support outreach, peer groups, and engagement with underrepresented communities.

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. Whether you have lived experience, professional insight, or simply a passion for helping others, we’ll support you to make a difference.
