Rural Crime

Rural crime is a term that covers many crimes and incidents that affect rural communities. Rural crime tends to fall into one of four categories: 

  • Agricultural, theft from or damage to farms, farm buildings and equipment and livestock. 
  • Equine, crimes and incidents against stables and equestrian centres. Such as tack theft and livestock worrying. 
  • Wildlife, crimes such as poaching, and interfering with protected species. 
  • Heritage, ‘any offence which harms the value of Britain’s heritage assets and their settings to this and future generations.’
